La Ronde is located in the north of Charente-Maritime, in the heart of the Poitevin marshes, between Niort and La Rochelle, at the confluence of three departments, and at the gateway to Green Venice.
Its inhabitants are called the Rondelais and the Rondelaises.

Inhabited for over a thousand years. La Ronde was an island at the time. It was cleaned up during the reign of Henri IV. It was in 1848 that it became a municipality in its own right after having been attached to that of Taugon for a long time.
Since then, it has continued to attract new inhabitants.

La Ronde is a privileged place for green tourism thanks to the charm of its canals, and its calm and welcoming environment.
