The house located at 96, rue Nationale in Saint-Porchaire was inhabited by Marie Bon, her husband Armand Bon and their daughter Nadine from 1865 to 1878. Pierre Loti, again Julien Viaud, spent many stays there, described in Prime Jeunesse, including the text feeds the subject of the visit and serves as a basis for the evocation of this period.

The scenographic path unfolds in all the rooms on the ground floor: the entrance hall, the large living room, the dining room and the kitchen. Each of these rooms offers a thematic point of view: the hallway: the family / the large living room: the painting studio / the dining room: the meal on the return from La Roche-Courbon / the kitchen: the landscape.

Although inviting to travel through a bygone period, the visit of the house is combined with the present: a painting in progress, a family meal, a walk in the woods... The devices created offer the visitor a visual, sound, poetic, by engaging Loti's memories to superimpose them on the present moment, that of the visit.

2 km marked footpath (paying) linking the Maison Marie Bon to the caves of the Château du Bouil Bleu of the Château de la Roche-Courbon.
