The covered market, bastion of yesterday's trade, of an asymmetrical shape, was built between 1882 and 1885 on the type of "baltard" pavilions at the height of iron construction.
Erected on the site of a block of dilapidated houses, razed in 1867, it is still the pride of the town centre.
In 1997, major works were undertaken to safeguard this municipal heritage which, over time, had suffered significant damage. A very careful and successful exterior restoration has restored the covered market to its former glory.
In 1998, the interior of the covered market was completely refurbished. It now offers a standard commercial setting, functional, very friendly and full of freshness.
The covered market is only open on Tuesday mornings, the weekly market day (fair on the 1st Tuesday of the month). It is also accessible during occasional events.
