12.5km

Walk around Bazoin and its locks, at the confluence of the Sèvre, the Autize and the Mignon which has its source in Charente-Maritime.

1. From the pond restaurant, cross a small canal (Vieux Bijou, limit between Charente-Maritime and Vendée) and pass in front of the DDE 79 lock house. Turn left to cross the Nouveau Béjou canal and left to reach the Bazoin lock.

Cross the Sèvre Niortaise and turn right on the paved "chemin de Bazoin" to the Pont de l'Ouillette.

2. Take a path that goes between Vieille Autize and its canal. Go along it for about 1km. Cross the D25 and take a path along the Vieille Autize canal.

3. A footbridge allows you to cross it to reach the Reth canal. Exit the marsh to the right to reach the Damvix pier.

4. Take the bridge over the Sèvre. Continue straight on the road on a gravelled then stony path. Ignore a wide path on the right and continue towards the "chain ferry" recently doubled by a footbridge.

5. On leaving the wood, turn left, cross the Forges canal and reach the wide Mignon canal. Follow this canal to the right to reach Bazoin.
