Hiking circuit - Les Ecluses du Brault

A hike around the water, which will take you along the canal to the Brault locks.

1. Cross the park of the town hall and pass near the church to reach the halls and the port (on the left the imposing building of the old wheat silo built in 1925).

2. Do not cross the bridge but pass in front of the old lock keeper's house and follow the canal from Marans to La Rochelle.

3. Follow the D 105 to the right for 300 m and turn right just before the Banche bridge. The path along the canal passes halfway near an old stone bridge and arrives at the Brault locks.

4. Turn right, cross the bridge over the maritime canal from Marans to the sea and follow it to the right bank.

5. The path arrives at the Enfrenaux lock. Then follow the Sèvre Niortaise until you find yourself facing the port of Marans. Cross the locks and go up towards the church and the town hall.
